Education and Licenses

My initial academic training was as an electrical engineer and I received my BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manchester in 1972. I continued my engineering education by earning a MS in Electrical Engineering from the Stanford University in 1973. Halfway through this masters program, and much to my mother’s consternation, I decided I did not want to work as an electrical engineer after all! I continued my education by earning a MBA degree in 1975 from the Stanford University School of Business. After a long stint in the world of work, in 1998 I enrolled part time on a Masters degree program in Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University. I completed that degree in 2003. Both my CPA and my MFT licenses are current and active.
During my career I also had the Series 7 stockbroker license and a real estate salesperson license. While useful at the time, both these licenses are currently inactive. The continuing education requirement to maintain these licenses is considerable and at some point I decided that maintaining them was not worthwhile.
